Hand made of wool and cotton, we stand close to 12.5 inches high. Designed by Raindrop/Ej Mills Brennan, a Mashpee Wampanoag, we sing of 'Thanksgivings', dancing with great joy, as instructed by the Creator, on our journey to "Suckannesset, the place where Black Wampum is found".

Our traditional regalia is of deerskin, and the purple and white beads are symbolic of 'Wampum', made from the 'Quahog' shell of this Northeast Coastland. A staple food, it's shell beads continue to be valued and prized by Native America, serving also as a medium of exchange during early colonial trade & economy. The 'Rising Sun' signifies Wampanoag: 'People of the first light' or, Eastern People.
